Abstract
As known, more than one parties, for the first time, took part in the neighbourhood management elections, which were held in 1947. Voters, after many years, had a right to vote for an opposition party. However, the choice of the public didn't reflect in the results during the vote classifications. So many complaints were on agenda in different places. The Issue of Aslanköy was one of them. In this study, the controversial neighbourhood Management polls of Aslanköy, a village of Mersin city has been investigated. Why was the election wanted to rehold, in spite of the fact that, the election was in due form? How did the people of the place back the polls? How did the events which ended at some heavy penalty court cases commence and go on? How did the people of Aslanköy find themselves accused ones since they adopted the events? How did these trials go on? The answers have been looked into in this study.
